This week we had lots of rain the – first 3 days – and water level rose quite a bit and had an effect on the fishing, lots of fish was lost, around 40, so quite a few cautious Salmon were lost and some with lots of drama. Vittori Basi lost a BIG whopper in Pine Pool and Ulf Holmgren had the same unfortunate experience with 2 lost in Island Pool and they were BIG (at least 20 Lbs)…One of them stripped 200 meters of backing and after some very intense fight it was lost. The fish you will never forget. Top rod, Paytrick Palmefjord landed 12 chromers and Vittori Basi 10 silvers, biggest fish of 18 Lbs. Morten Blichmann caught 30.2 monster in Island Pool and the fish must have been at least 35 Lbs when it entered Umba, what a fish and BIG congratulation to the danish Umba veteran.
69 salmon caught all together and pretty good taking the circumstances into consideration. Biggest Salmon; 1 x 30, 2 and 20 between 15-19 Lbs, and 20 between 10-14 Lbs. Best flies; Cascade, Billy Butt and Podolsky Fly.
New team have arrived and the fishing is getting better as the river has started to drop, just what we want:)
