For the serious sea-run addict, one river that must be experienced is the Dean River in British Columbia, Canada. Its summer-run steelhead and chinook salmon are legendary fish, specially evolved and adapted to be strong and athletic. Pursuing these fish on the famous pools of the lower river between the canyon falls and Dean Channel is one of angling’s greatest thrills. Openings at the two lodges that fish this water are rare. But Salmon Junkies has heard of an attractive opportunity and would like to relay the news. Our friend, writer, photographer and travel specialist Jeff Bright, has just announced three openings (due to cancellations from long time guests) in his 4-11 July 2014 week at Blackwell’s Lodge. There is only one Dean River and this is a fabulous chance to sample its super-chrome fish!
