Dear Salmon Junkies
Just a quick letter to express my thanks for the exiting Week 25 on the Ponoi “Acha Camp”. The water condition this week wasn’t the best but we had 131 Salmon between 6 Rods – that’s just a awesome result. I have never caught that many salmon in just one week (and I lost plenty of Salmon too). I also want to say thanks for all the fun on the riverbank together with all the great moments during the evenings in the where we all where sitting together in camp having a glass or two together. I’m looking forward to the trip at Umba in September/October and I’m happy to see all my Fly-fishing friends again.
This was my third trip I had booked with Salmon Junkies and I’m still very excited. All the trips have been well organized and the Salmon Junkies team is always very helpful. If you book here, you’re in good Hands, that’s for sure!
Thanks again. Kai Welle. Germany
I hope your third week on the Varzuga went well and your guests caught a lot of salmon.
I would like to thank you again for a fantastic week on your Grand Varzuga.
It was Atlantic Salmon Fishing at it’s best that can’t be beaten. Everything was absolutely perfect – the fishing, the camp, the food, the guides. We all enjoyed it very much. I will surely be back – if not next year definitely 2014. With kind regards and tight lines for the rest of the season

I loved my trip to Grand Varzuga and hope to can go next year – Very nice if we can meet another time
Hope to see you next year. Chantal Choné. France
Thank you again for the fishing on the Umba. Your hard work for the protection of the river, is on the right way, and the results is spectacular, giving an outstanding quality of fish. Comparing with the same period of last years, the number of fish caught this year was a little bit more than the double, and considering the big fish….many, many more.
In spite of extreme weather this year, with heavy rain, strong wind, and raising river, the fishing was just fantastic. All salmon (except of 5 ) were super fresh covered with sea lice.
To be remembered: Many big fish this year with the biggest an amazing 31 lbs, caught in Krivetz.
A extreme day where, the party lost more than 50 salmon !…
Big crocodiles lost at the frame of the landingnet !…
Dave Parks became the first person with 4 X 20lbs club member in only one week.
Upstanding lodge, good food, warm atmosphere with a mix of Champagne, Vodka, Whisky, Wine, Italian cheese and Mortadella….and of course a lot of Rom and “Coca Kola”.
Steffen, please secure the same weeks for me next year.
Life is good.
Back in the real life!! Thanks for this week on the Umba river …I will never forget it.
I hope to see you again on this great river …perhaps next year.
Umba 2012 was the best salmon fishing ever for me. The wooden lodge at Umba is beautiful and the rooms nice and clean with a good appointed bathroom.
The staff is friendly and Igor our guide was superb. Igor was always full of good ideas and encouraging words when we where waiting for the pull. Please send him our best regards.
You was a friendly entertainer during our stay (I hope entertainer is a correct word for that) and I really hope to meet you again.
After my trip I tied for 3 days Red Butts flies and now I have a full box for the coming season.

I want to thank all of you most sincerely for a wonderful week’s fishing on the Umba, you made it all so easy for me to have the wonderful opportunity to fish the glorious Umba. Every part of the trip was absolutely first class. On the drive from Murmansk to the lodge and back again the drivers were excellent, very careful and taking no chances. The Lodge itself surpasses much more expensive one’s I have used in America, the cuisine was excellent, if a little strange at times. The guide’ Igor is probably the best guide / ghillie I have ever had the pleasure of fishing with. He is so courteous and helpful at all times and nothing you ask of him is any problem. The river itself is what most people would dream of when considering Atlantic salmon fishing, it is just so perfect. I want to thank Anne Mette for being so professional in arranging the trip.
My friend Jim has already being in contact with you about next year so I will not comment on that except to say that it will not come quick enough.
