Umba – Best start of the season!

steffen Fish Reports Leave a Comment

We haven’t seen a better start in 20 years when Steffen started his first voyage to Umba. Steffen wents on to Krivetz yesterday with his trusted TCX to make a better path on the other side. A few hours work (fishing) resulted in 2 x 7 lbs, 1 x 10 lbs, 2 x 18 lbs plus a 20+ lbs, not to forget all the takes. A BIG Umba whopper was lost too, after a long fight it unfortunately went down the rock in Long Pool and off it was. Down in Umba, 5 salmons was caught – 3 rods – amongst them 2 x 13 lbs and 1 x 13 lbs, all fresh.

Umba is full of fish all over and water temperature is around 15 c, still warm weather and – and biting – mosquitoes still here:). Now we hope for a bit colder/cloudier weather. Its so clear now for us that the extensive control of the river really has paid off and we hope this great start of the season continues and we will have a great season all together.

Still many weeks left and much more reports, stay tuned for more:)

All the best Kåre Lundquist
