It looks like that we will have very good conditions in Ponoi river when the first rods will arrive within a week.
With no snow in the backcountry and water conditions like we where in July, it indicate that June month will go ballistic. Ponoi produce always very well in low water condition, and like Umba we never worry that we should “without water”
The June fishing is extremely reliable as both the over wintering non-spawners and fresh fish from the sea start to respond to the increasing temperatures and steadily dropping water. If wind and weather also plays along these are weeks where the salmon-ceiling is popped of like corks from our Russian champagne.
Some guests have had up to 100 fish in June and we are not talking grilse on a string.
