Bitterly cold weather on Kola

Yesterday I received a phone call from my long termed friend and partner from company SILVER OF PONOI Mr. Dmitry Scherbak. Dmitry could tell, that the winter has a dig in, with strong frost and heavy snow all over the Kola Peninsula. Some days ago, day temperatures around 32 Celsius was recorded in Ponoi, and in Murmansk it has been bitterly cold during the last days, with temperatures down to Minus 20 Celsius. Our Russia friends still have more than one month before the first Daylight appear over the Polar horizon.

Fascinating to know that under the thick ice covering Ponoi river, massive numbers of silvery salmon are waiting for the spring to arrive –so do a lot of Salmon Junkies

Sincerely

Steffen
